Santa Barbara Non-Profit Organizations
Santa Barbara County has many not-for-profit organizations that benefit the community tremendously. Among them are the following: Coast Village Business Association Computers for Families The Computers for Families project is providing computers, Internet access and training for Santa Barbara County students whose families cannot afford to purchase them. 4400 Cathedral Oaks Road
Montecito Community Foundation Members meet monthly to hear updates on our current projects (like the Franceschi House), finances, and other topics of preservation interest. They learn of new preservation threats and debate courses of action and plan activities. All members are encouraged to attend, to participate in projects and bring interested guests. Phone: (805) 961-3938 Santa Barbara Firefighters Alliance Santa Barbara Firefighters Alliance is a 501 c (3) non-profit Corporation consisting of an all-volunteer group of community members, current and retired Firefighters, and long time supporters of public safety who have joined together to fill the gap in funding for fire protection agencies and personnel in Santa Barbara County. SBFA organizes efforts to raise funds for much needed safety equipment not included in Fire Department budgets in the City and County of Santa Barbara. Touring the Historical Museum enables visitors to see a wide array of unique artifacts, photographs, furnishings and textiles dating from the 15th century. Members of the Santa Barbara Historical Society are invited to attend an annual meeting and lecture series on varying topics throughout the year. 136 East De la Guerra Street Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation For over 20 years, Transition House has provided food, shelter and services to Santa Barbara’s families who have lost their housing.
